Here at ContractorRank.com we believe that it should be easy to find the best contractors for any project, no matter where you live. We've all heard horror stories about customers getting ripped off or home projects turning into disasters. We thought there had to be an easier way to find local contractors, and after researching the competition we knew that ContractorRank.com had to be built. We are a small team of 10 employees with one big goal; make it easy to find the best contractors for any project, anywhere.
We know how skilled contractors are, and how important proper training and experience is. Hiring an inexperienced contractor may seem like an easy way to save a few dollars, but you will often end up paying for it later. Companies that have been around for a long time have survived for a reason, customers like their service. We are wary of contractors that seem to pop up overnight, but if they are wully licensed and insured we will vet them with an open mind.
At the end of the day, a contractor is only as good as his clients say he is. We look for contractors with tons of satisfied clients. If a contractor is unable to supply any satisfied clients, they probably aren't as good as they claim to be. We want to list contractors that we would recommend, personally, to our friends.
We've all heard stories of contractors being super attentive and once they get your money they become flaky, or show up late or eevn not at all while your project stretches past it's deadline. Here at ContractorRank we like contractors that we can depend on. We seek out contractors that show up on time, complete the job on time, and are honest and reliable. We don't like contractors that will tell you anything that you want to hear just so they can win the job. We are looking for straight shooters who will honor their word and give you accurate time frames and estimates.
Pricing contractor projects is frequently a pain point for many customers. In some cases a contractor can provide an honest bid but the project will end up going over budget. There's also the very common problem where contractors bid low to get the bid and sneak in hidden fees and go "over budget", even though there was no way of staying under the low-balled budget. We prefer contractors who will tell us like it is, and give us all the potential costs up front. We know that there are sometimes surprises, but contractors know this to and should warn the customer if they see any potential problems.
